Description:
In previous articles I explained jQuery change text size with example, jQuery ajax gridview crud operations (insert, update, delete) with database, jQuery display gridview row details in modal popup dialog, jQuery validate radiobuttonlist with example and many articles relating to css, AngularJS, jQuery, JavaScript and asp.net. Now I will explain how to check if image exists with given url in jQuery with example.

Now I will explain how to check if image exists with given url in jQuery with example.
To check if image exists with url in
jQuery
we need to write the code like as shown below
$('#btnStatus').click(function () {
$.ajax({
url: $('#txtUrl').val(),
success: function (data) {
alert('exists');
},
error: function (data) {
alert('does not exist');
}
});
});

If
you want to check it in complete example you need to write the code like as
shown below
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title>jQuery check if file
exists on remote server</title>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.8.2.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function () {
$('#btnStatus').click(function () {
$.ajax({
url: $('#txtUrl').val(),
success: function (data) {
alert('exists');
},
error: function (data) {
alert('does not exist');
}
});
});
})
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form id="form1">
<div>
<b>Enter Url to Check:</b><input type ="text"
id="txtUrl"
value="https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/simgad/410792485310583205"
/><input
type="button"
value="Check
Status" id="btnStatus"
/>
</div>
</form>
</body>
</html>

Nice trick -- now show me how to display the image on the page IF it exists -- without making a second request for it. ;)
