To check if file exists with url in jQuery
we need to write the code like as shown below
$('#btnStatus').click(function () {
$.ajax({
url: $('#txtUrl').val(),
success: function (data) {
alert('exists');
},
error: function (data) {
alert('does not exist');
}
});
});

If
you want to check it in complete example you need to write the code like as
shown below
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title>jQuery check if file
exists on remote server</title>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.8.2.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function () {
$('#btnStatus').click(function () {
$.ajax({
url: $('#txtUrl').val(),
success: function (data) {
alert('exists');
},
error: function (data) {
alert('does not exist');
}
});
});
})
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form id="form1">
<div>
<b>Enter Url to Check:</b><input type ="text"
id="txtUrl"
value="https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/simgad/410792485310583205"
