jQuery Check if String Contains Specific Text or Not with Example

Introduction:

Here I will explain how to use jQuery to check if string contains specific text or not with example or jQuery to check if string contains particular text or not with example.

Description:

In previous articles I explained jQuery round off numbers with decimal values, insert & fetch data from access database in asp.net, sort gridview columns with dropdownlist selection in asp.net, JavaScript get whole number division using Math.ceil function, jQuery fixed header on window scroll with example and many articles relating to AngularJS, jQuery, JavaScript and asp.net. Now I will explain how to use jQuery to check if string contains text or not with example.

To check whether string contains particular text or not in jQuery we need to write the code like as shown below

$(function () {

$('#btnCheck').click(function () {

if ($('#txtword').val().indexOf('how') != -1) {

alert('String Contains Word');

return true;

} else {

alert('String Does not contains word');

return false;

}

});

})

</script>

If you want to check it in complete example you need to write the code like as shown below
